I see a lot of photographers telling other photogs that they must pick a niche, a specialized segment of a market where people are more comfortable working. Here's my issue with choosing one or two specific niches to target: I get bored way too easily to only photograph just couples and weddings, just motherhood sessions, just newborns, or even just boudoir.
My Goal as your Go-To Photographer:
The experiences as a go-to photographer are far greater than if I choose a comfort zone. I want to be able to travel, learn, and challenge myself outside one or two niches. The ability to be a jack-of-all-niches (if you will) keeps me versatile and stops me from becoming bored over the mundane. I have always imagined myself photographing everything, rather than settling for one specific area. I pride myself in being able to be there for all of life's milestones from birth to first birthdays, graduation, and your wedding day, to everything in between and after. It's an honor to be able to watch my clients grow in life through my lens.
Why Choose a Go-To Photographer?
For a lot of people, being in front of the lens is a daunting task. However, continuing to go in front of the same photographer for every single one of life's milestones becomes easier with time. You form a bond as client and photographer that makes each session easier. This can be especially true for children. The more they get to see me and get to know me, the more likely they will have fun in front of my lens.
On the Other Hand:
I do believe style is important. Style, in photography, is the way a photographer composes, shoots, and edits an image. Each photographer's style will be different, but it should be the same throughout their entire portfolio.
My style includes both, posed and lifestyle images. I like to warm up with posed images and then move into more movement and flow (lifestyle). In the editing process, I tend to stay closer to true to color images, so they never look outdated.
