The First Snow
2024 began with temperatures that felt like spring. The air was cool, but the sun was bright. Honestly, I thought we were going to have a year without any snow at all. Then the third week of January came along and it seemed Mother Nature was coming at us with a vengeance. Temperatures dropped below zero and schools were closing left and right to avoid an incoming blizzard.
Snow Fall
Fortunately, in Greenwood, IN, we only received a little under 3 inches of light fluffy snow. The perfect amount for sessions in the snow, enough to cover the ground and play in without tripping or getting caught in a layer too deep.
Below Freezing Temperatures
At this point, the only issue we faced was waiting for the weather to warm up enough to be outside, without loosing the snow. I don't know about where you're from, but here in the Midwest, it snows and by the next day it's gone. Thankfully, temperatures rose slowly, and the snow stuck around, through the weekend. We were able to get quite a few sessions in before the snow disappeared, as if it never happened.
