For couples who don't want a first look.
First looks are an awesome way to get a majority of pictures out of the way before the ceremony. Take a look at my first look blog, to find other reason's why a first look is a good idea. However, for some, they want to remain traditional and keep the first look for when they walk down the aisle. So, what can you do instead of a first look?
1) A first prayer.
You and your partner can stand on either side a door or corner and say a prayer about your marriage and future together.
2) A first touch.
Some of my couples enjoy the idea of a first look, but they would rather not see each other before the ceremony. So, I recommend a first touch. You and your partner stand on either side of a door, or corner, facing away from each other and hold hands without looking at each other.
3) First look with others.
Instead of doing a first look with your fiancé, you can have one with your father, father-in-law, mother, siblings, bridal party, or grandparents!
4) Shots!
When standing on opposite sides of a door, or corner, you and your partner can take a shot to celebrate.
5) Put a friend in a gown.
On a funnier note, have a groomsmen come up with a reason to get out of the men's dressing room and put him in a dress. When the groom turns around, to find him, laughter will explode. Make sure your photographer is in the loop, to capture the hilarious reaction.
6) Half ready first look.
Instead of stepping in front of your significant other in your wedding gown, or tux, and all dolled-up, you could have your hair and makeup done, but be in a cute pajama set. It gives your partner a 'sneak peek' of the final look, but still leaves some to the imagination.
